He is currently a sessional Lecturer within the School of Information Management and Systems. Before joining Monash he was a senior consultant in records management issues, an information manager with the Rural Water Commission, and an Assistant Director at a regional office with Australian Archives. Before joining Australian Archives, Frank was a teacher working mainly in the area of adult education. He has also been involved in organising of a range of conferences, seminars and workshops held at Monash and is a continuing member, from the time of its inception, of I.T. 21 which is the general committee of Standards Australia, developing standards for records management. This standards work now involves membership of a sub-committee of the International Standards Organisations working on the drafting of an international standard. Frank has made several submissions to Parliamentary enquiries or recordkeeping issues and was a member of the Editorial committee and one of the content editors of Keeping Archives (2nd edition). He has had various roles as a professional member of the Australian Society of Archivists, including National Secretary, 1979/81, and is a lapsed member of the Records Management Association of Australia where he was also active. Frank has a Master of Arts from Melbourne University and a teaching qualification. He has published widely on archives and records management topics through publications, journals and conference papers. Currently Frank is preparing a monograph and doctoral thesis on continuum modeling in the records and information management fields. 'Records and Resource Management' in Informaa Quarterly, 1990, Volume 6, Number 1 Qualifications and Employment History Livia Iacovino BA(Hons) (Melb), Grad Dip Info Man (Melb), MA(Archives and Records) (Monash) and PhD (Monash) has researched and taught within the recordkeeping courses at Monash University since 1990, in particular she has developed the legal and ethics curricula, at both graduate and undergraduate level. She was awarded her PhD, Ethical-legal Frameworks for Recordkeeping: Regulatory Models, Participants and their Rights and Obligations at Monash University, in 2003. Previous appointments include the National Archives of Australia (Victoria), Public Record Office Victoria, principally in developing and implementing government access policy, and records and archives consultancy work for public and private organisations. She has collaborated internationally as a member of the Australian Research Team and Authenticity Task Force, International Research on Permanent Authentic Records in Electronic Systems (InterPARES 1) (1998-2001). In 1999 she was a consultant and author to the international study program of the Management of Public Sector Records (MPSR) Project initiated by the International Records Management Trust (IRMT), which has distributed its teaching modules to over 60 countries and translated them into several languages. She has presented papers at national and international conferences and workshops, made government submissions, given guest lectures, and published in scholarly journals since 1989. Her publications are listed in North American, European and Australian records and archives course materials, in particular her book 'Things in Action': Teaching Law to Recordkeeping Professionals, Ancora Press, Monash University, Melbourne, 1998, has been used for developing legal curricula for recordkeeping courses. Awards Livia's awards include Australian Society of Archivists Inc. Outstanding Student Award 1988, Australian Postgraduate Award for PhD 1998; and the Australian Society of Archivists Inc. Mander Jones Award 1999, for Archives and Manuscripts, Theme Issue, 'Recordkeeping and the Law' for the publication making the greatest contribution to archives or a related field in Australia written by a person in their own right. Professional activity Livia has been a professional member of the Australian Society of Archivists Inc. since 1976; member of the Education Committee of the ASA Inc. Victorian Branch 1989; Secretary of the Victorian Branch of the Society 1991-92, and a member of the Society's Electronic Records, and Science, Technology and Medicine Special Interest Groups. She has presented at professional seminars, such as the ASA Electronic Records Special Interest Group, 'Managing Websites: Gearing up for the e-commerce era', in December 1999. She has intermittently managed the archives and records fieldwork program since 1990. The program has also enhanced the network of links of the School with government, industry and community organisations.
