The Records Continuum Research Group (RCRG) is looking at methods of analysis which enable records to be controlled at different points in time throughout their lifespan. This includes the way records are represented, used, retrieved and disseminated. The group is also looking into how continuum models apply to information management and data archiving.

  • organising records for enterprise wide control
  • carrying records forward through time within the plurality of archival systems at societal level.

Continuum Modelling and Research

  • Modelling the records continuum
  • Modelling the information continuum (in conjunction with the Information Enterprise Group)
  • Researching at a conceptual level the possibilities contained within continuum styles of management for the virtual library and virtual archives (in conjunction with the Information Enterprise Group)
  • Conceptualising new approaches to the core archival functions of appraisal, description and use

Requirement and concepts for managing the records continuum including:
