BreastCare
Victoria is a program of the Victorian Department
of Human Services, established to oversee the implementation
of the Breast Disease Service Redevelopment Strategy
1999-2003. The Strategy promotes an integrated approach
to the organisation and delivery of breast care services,
with a focus on improving the quality, accessibility
and coordination of services in line with evidence-based
best practice. BreastCare Victoria has a strong commitment
to consumers, both in improving outcomes for women
and in promoting their participation in the implementation
of the Strategy.
BreastCare
Victoria will be involved in the oversight of the
project through participation in the Steering Committee,
and will advise on the convening of the Advisory Committee.
BreastCare Victoria has committed $20,000 for each
year of this two year project, along with significant
in-kind support.
