About
ISSOC
| The Purpose of ISSOC | ||
|
The Information Systems Society was developed to bring students, staff
and IT professionals together to form a much needed community.
Members of the society have the ability to interact with other students studying similar subjects or working in the Industry and build valuable relationships with teaching staff. |
The
society is sponsored by a number of leading IT companies and this aids
our members ability to keep in touch with the Industry.
The ISSOC web site aims to facilitate this interaction both within the University and Industry. We want to utlise technology to further enhance the relationship amonst the student members, committee members, faculty staff and sponsors. |

ISSOC History |
||||
|
Developed
in 1994, as the collective voice of the Information Systems students
at Monash Caulfield, ISSOC, the brainchild of one Mr Adrian Fox, was
developed to bridge the gap between industry and university study with
the intention of aiding Information Systems students toward rewarding
careers.
|
|
ISSOC
provided a much needed link between the theory of university learning
and what future employers were actually looking for.
Seven years later, ISSOC is still running strong! With a new stack of members, and solid financial backing, ISSOC has developed to cater for the interests of all computing students at Caulfield. |
As ISSOCs capacity has developed, as has its reputation as one of the premier societies on campus. Last years members were privy to some of the most memorable pub nights recorded, whilst the illustrious annual Ball was a night to remember. |
