Decision Support in the New Millennium

Second and Final Call for Papers

The 5th Conference of the International Society for Decision Support Systems (ISDSS'99) will be held in Melbourne, Australia during July 21-22,1999. The purpose of the conference is to promote discussion and interaction among members of the information systems community with research interests in cutting-edge decision support systems. The 1999 conference provides an opportunity for researchers to reflect on the achievements of the DSS field to date and to theorize about the likely directions and challenges for decision support in the new millennium. ISDSS'99 seeks exchange of emerging and innovative research ideas and results, which not only provide foundation for further research, but also benefit the business community.

TOPICS

Original research papers on the design, development and implementation, and use of decision support systems are solicited. Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:
  • modelling techniques, system development methodologies;
  • knowledge-based and intelligent systems, knowledge management;
  • teamwork, groupware, collaborative, group decision and negotiation systems;
  • workflow management, organizational support systems, executive systems;
  • datawarehousing, datamining and knowledge discovery systems
  • interorganizational systems, partnerships, networked and virtual enterprises
  • electronic commerce, cybermarketing, electronic payment
There will be special issues of the Journal on Decision Support Systems and the Journal on Decision Systems published based on the selected papers from this conference.

Deadline for submission:  12 February, 1999
Notification of acceptance:  26 April, 1999
Camera-ready copy due:  25 May, 1999
 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING PAPERS

The original, unpublished papers, limited to 8000  words, should be submitted electronically (in Microsoft Word RTF format) before February 12 1999. All submissions will be double blind reviewed. Selection for presentation at the conference and publication in the proceedings will be based on originality, contribution to the field, and relevance to the conference.

We particularly invite papers, which reflect on the past of DSS and propose some directions for the decision support in the new millennium.

A book of all abstracts and a CD-ROM of the Full Proceedings will be distributed at the conference. The paper copies of conference proceedings will be available upon request for some small additional cost.
